Caring for the environment comes naturally to us. That's why Sowell Gray is an official Columbia Green Business.
Becoming a Columbia Green Business means we are dedicated to operating in an environmentally friendly manner. Here are some of the ways that we have been able to conserve:
REDUCING WASTE. Our team reduces paper waste through the creative use of our electronic resources. We send and receive electronic faxes rather than paper faxes; scan paper documents rather than making multiple copies; and whenever possible, send email correspondence rather than printing and mailing hard copies.
REUSE. Our office building is an example of bringing new life to an old space. Rather than constructing a new facility, our firm is proud to inhabit a historic building that has lived many lives since its origins as a schoolbook depository in the early 1900s.
RECYCLING. We recycle products like paper, plastic, aluminum, cardboard, toner cartridges and outdated computer equipment. Whenever possible, we also purchase recycled office products.
CONSERVING ENERGY. We've outfitted our office with energy efficient, compact fluorescent light bulbs, and we make a concentrated effort to reduce energy emissions by turning off all lights, computers and office equipment at the end of each day.
As we continue to pursue new ways to go green, we hope that each small step we take will add up to make a big difference for the future of our environment.
