A native of South Carolina, Cal Watson inherited his love of history from his family. Using published genealogies available in local libraries, he began to research his family history while in high school. Now most of the research he's doing to fill out his family tree is conducted online.
His family members are waiting in line to learn of the interesting tidbits Cal has discovered about his family, including the fact that Jimmy Carter is his 17th cousin.
As President of the Historic Columbia Foundation, Cal puts his passion for genealogy to good use.
