J. Michael Montgomery
"On the weekend you will find me on a tractor or taking care of the cows."
On his family's farm, Michael Montgomery learned to throw hay around for the cows, pick up vegetables, milk a cow, and castrate a bull. The farm land that he now tends, after the recent passing of his grandfather, has been in Michael's family for six generations. But he's just now really getting into the care of it.
His favorite time of day is around sunset as he's getting off the tractor. He loves the moment when the engine dies, and all he can hear is nature.
Being on the farm isn't just making Michael appreciate nature. It's also teaching him important life lessons. He's proud to be continuing the tradition his grandfather started of giving away instead of selling the vegetables he grows.
