Sowell Gray Contributes $5000 in Honor of Distinguished Colleague, Friend |

COLUMBIA, SC, Sept. 11, 2006 - Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte honored an esteemed colleague on Wednesday, September 6 by making a $5000 donation to the SC Bar Foundation's Wilburn Brewer Fund.
The fund, created by the Bar Foundation in memory of Wilburn Brewer, will be used by the Chief Justice's Commission on the Profession to sponsor a legal event each year. Mr. Brewer was an inaugural member of the Commission on the Profession and dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in law.
"Wilburn exemplified excellence in every aspect of the law. He served as a mentor to countless young lawyers and an example to all of us," said Bobby Stepp, managing partner at Sowell Gray. "We wanted to honor his memory in a way that would carry on his good work."
Sowell Gray presented the check to South Carolina Bar Foundation Executive Director Shannon Willis Scruggs in a ceremony at the Sowell
Gray offices in the Vista. Representatives from Brewer's firm, Nexsen Pruet; his family; the SC Bar Foundation; and Sowell Gray were in attendance.
