Bobby Stepp Doubly Honored
Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC, proudly announces that managing partner Robert E. Stepp has been twice honored this month for excellence in his profession.
A USC law school graduate, Stepp has been named a 2004 Gold Level Compleat Lawyer Award recipient from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Each year the USC Law School Alumni Association recognizes nine outstanding alumni who have made a significant contribution to the legal profession and who exemplify the highest standard of professional competence, ethics and integrity.
Recognized on a national level as well, Stepp will be inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) at the South Carolina chapter meeting in Columbia November 11. Founded in 1958, ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges whose members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the right to a civil jury trial provided by the 7th Amendment to our United States Constitution. ABOTA membership consists of more than 5,600 lawyers and judges spread among 92 Chapters in all 50 States and the District of Columbia. Only the most qualified defense and plaintiff attorneys – those with high personal character, honorable reputation and extensive courtroom experience – are invited to join ABOTA.
Stepp is a 1972 graduate of USC and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977. A frequent speaker on topics relating to legal issues affecting the real estate and lending industries, Stepp also serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Philharmonic.
