Employment & ERISA
The Labor and Employment Law department of Sowell Gray provides full service representation of public and private-sector management in all employment law areas. The firm's labor and employment team regularly represents clients in litigating employment-related civil rights and employment discrimination claims under the United States Constitution, state constitutions and various federal and state employment discrimination laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. In these cases, the firm practices before federal and state agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission (SCHAC), as well as state and federal courts. Our attorneys also regularly provide counseling, advice, and training to management and supervisors on civil rights, ADA, FMLA, and ERISA matters. Additionally the team provides assistance and counseling to employers concerning affirmative action and related personnel requirements under federal statutes and executive orders applicable to government contractors. The firm provides management counseling and representation with regard to all administrative and judicial proceedings under federal and state wage and hour laws, employment security, and occupational safety and health laws.
